Photography in Museum

Zen International Patents and Trademarks

Many museums in Japan prohibit taking pictures of exhibits on the grounds of copyright infringement.

However, with the spread of social media, the number of visitors who want to take pictures of exhibits and share them on the Internet has been increasing.

In addition,  the number of authors publishing their works on the Internet has been increasing and the fact makes it easier for someone to get authors' permission to take pictures of exhibits.

Therefore, lots of museums have begun to allow visitors to take pictures of exhibits and spread them on the net.

However, some visitors take flash photography of flash-banned exhibits, so we hope that visitors will keep their manners and take pictures.
