When drinking beer, we Japanese often accompany it with "edamame", immature green soybean.  Edamame is best partner of beer.
In terms of edamame, in order to reduce the burden of sorting operation of farmers, various kinds of sorting machines have been deveoped in Japan.

Recently, Akita prefecture transferred patent relating to an automatic edamame sorting machine to "Gao Chao Engineering", a machine manufacturing company in Yamagata prefecture.  The patent technology aims to easily judge growing condition and bruise of edamame based on the image of the transmitted light.

The patent was filed in 2006 and registered in 2013.  According to media reports, the transfer amount was 1.33 million yen.
