Today's topic is "Jokichi Takamine", one of ten Japanese Great Inventors chosen by the Japan Patent Office.

He invented the method to manufacture pure adrenaline through separation of crystals (Japan Patent Number 4785).
This method enabled to crystallize hormones for the first time in the world.

Adrenaline has been used as a hemostatic agent in every surgery.
He contributed greatly to the development of medical science.

In addition, he invented the method to produce diastase (Product name "TAKA-DIASTASE"), an enzyme that degrades starch, a so-called amylase.
