The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is currently preparing a report on the handling of the intellectual property created by artificial intelligence (AI).

In this report, it is stated that a person who handles AI rather than AI itself becomes the inventor or designer.

This policy may be changed when AI becomes to create the intellectual property only by its own power.

In addition, it is stated that the data created by AI will be protected by the Unfair Competition Prevention Law.
